The Parkville library closed in April and May of this year for an extensive internal renovation.  The $276,000 project involved new carpeting, painting of walls, and improvements to the shelving system.  The Parkville Branch opened in 1971 at 9509 Harford Road with a total book stock of 49,000 volumes and 175 magazines and newspapers. It was the first building in the county library system to have a ramp entrance for people in wheelchairs.  This is a major renovation to a beloved library and important community center in Carney and Parkville. Thanks to Councilwoman Cathy Bevins and Councilman David Marks for the information.
