The Department of Environmental Protection & Resource Management (DEPRM) in cooperation with The Department of Public Works, Bureau of Solid Waste Management (BSWM) will conduct a special one day collection event for household hazardous waste (HHW) on Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Western Acceptance Facility (WAF), 3310 Transway Road, Halethorpe, MD 21227. Baltimore County Residents may drop off unwanted household chemicals, paints, pesticides, mercury thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, re-chargeable batteries, ammunition and automotive fluids for recycling or proper disposal. No trash will be accepted at this event. For those residents unable to attend this event, DEPRM also operates a collection facility, in cooperation with the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Solid Waste Management, at the Eastern Sanitary Landfill, located at 6529 Days Cove Road in White Marsh. ESL is open Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. HHW material is accepted April through November.
